Well Its Official

I have quit the film project, it was a tough decision but I just didn't feel right about it for some time now. I think the Producer of the film is an idiot even though she is...well after my departure I guess I would say was a friend of mine. The script is booooring as hell its going to put the audience to sleep in the first 20 minutes and the characters are under-developed and in some ways stereotypical and I did my best to try to give my opinion on the matter...but the end result was, she (the producer) decided to do what she wanted to do which is her right as producer to do.

I mostly feel bad for the unsuspecting cast that has no idea that they have signed on to a project that will in the end not only hurt their acting aspirations (because once word gets out on this film no one is going to want to see it) but will also set independent films back 15 years....when people saw my film The Ties That Bind they always said what a great cast and story I had and that the film looked and felt like quality....that's what I pride myself on. As a film fanatic I live and breathe films...from foreign to domestic...and I take the art of cinema very seriously...and its obvious this producer doesn't...she just wants to have something to say that she did something...well on to my next film which we will be casting in Feb 2008 and this one is going to be fantastic!!!

Coming A Long Way

Have you ever thought about those times when life just seemed easy?...you didnt have to worry about bills, work, relationships etc...all you really cared about was whether or not G.I. Joe was going to ever defeat Cobra or if the Thunderkats would ever defeat Mumbra...hmmm those were the days when life just seemed easier and carefree.

I am about to film a project that my heart is not into any longer, the script sucks ass, the producer has no clue on how to make a film and the moral is low. The only reason why I am considering staying in the project is because I dont want to seem like a quitter and the fact that if I split other people are going to split as well...real fast so I guess you can say I am at a crossroads...things were easier when I was little.

The One That Got Away.....

Today its rainy, cloudy and cold here and I decided that it would be a perfect day to go get soup and a sandwich from the deli...as I went into the deli...it happened...out walks the one that got away...you know the one that you had a relationship with and didnt fully appreciate until it was all over...well here we are face to face just looking at each other. Its been 7 years and wow...still looking great...we hugged, spoke and tried to act as if we were just two old friends who casually bumped into each other...it was nice.

After 20 minutes we exchanged the new numbers and parted ways...as I was ordering my food I thought about how difficult I was when we were in a realtionship and how I ended it abruptly...I finally realized that I caused someone elses hurt...and I felt bad...damn age and maturity....so now I have been feeling like using that number and calling to talk about the past and actually apologize...cause truth be told..I never felt loved the way I felt loved when we were together...so hmmm I dont know...decisions, decisions...so I was listening to my ipod and the perfect song started playing...

Officially Over

Its really sad when a relationship comes to an end...what can you say?...what do you do next? how did this happen?...those are the thoughts in my head right now...but its all good. Maybe one day the right one will come along...but you know how it is...its the starting over thing that is the WORST....case and point I asked a certain someone out to a movie this past weekend and was completely shot down...It kinda hurt my feelings a little..but oh well maybe one day real love will come into the picture...ummmm I hope! I've been hearing this song in my head all day long and so I had to go and find it...it sums up how I am feeling right about now:

And I Wore A Good Outfit For This?

Okay so I just got back from a morning at court in Washington D.C. fighting a speeding ticket...well I knew going in that the chances that the police officer was going to be there was slim to none. I woke up at 6am in order to get to court on time. For some reason I decided to go into the "good stuff" part of my closet...you know the section where instead of paying the light bill you bought the outfit instead. I pulled out a nice powder blue YSL Shirt and Charcoal Grey YSL Slacks...hell if I was going to go to court I was gonna look good going in. Well I get to the court and low and behold all the guys that were there were in t-shirts and jeans and dirty timbaland boots looking like they just woke up. As I stood there glued to the wall as a rather large man came throught the hall screaming "The President Fucked Me Over, The President Fucked Me Over"

As I was about to say screw this where is the cashier so I can pay this ticket, a nicely dressed woman came over to me and said "now yor mother taught you right, you came here looking sharp" I looked at her and said thank you, she then went on to say that she was an attorney and she hated to see the young african american males come to court dreesed like they are on the corner...I couldn't agree more is what I said to her. As the door to the court opened she wished me good luck..I went in and took my seat looking for the bastard cop that stopped me and gave me that $100.00 ticket.

Needless to say he wasnt there so I got off scott free.....AGAIN..as I was walking out of the court feeling great..it had stopped raining and as I was standing to cross the street a truck came pass and its tire dipped into a pot-hole and splashed water..I had to think fast so...okay I know people are gonna get mad at this but I quickly moved and the woman that was behind me..well she absorbed the water instead of me...I know, I know!!!...but c'mon now a powder blue shirt..with splashes of dirty street water..and we all know thats the kind of dirt that dont wash clean.

As the dust or rather the water settled this rather older lady looked at me and said "you lil mother fucker" as I stood there shocked at her statement I gathered my thoughts and said to her..Ma'am I am sorry and just walked away.

Well I get back to work and we have a new tenant moving in their office space so i have to walk them through it to make sure everything is okay...as I got off of the elevator and turned the corner...GUESS WHO WAS STANDING THERE....YES!!!!....the lil mother fucker lady!!! her company is the new tenants....its going to be a long year!

Weekend Get-Away

This past weekend was a great one, I went to New York for business and pleasure. The business aspect came in the form of my magazine Velocity as I did a great interview with D.J. Baker of Da Doo Dirty Show and blogger extraordinaire Adam Benjamin Irby for the December / January issue. We initially met at 5am early Saturday morning at a diner in Manhattan since that's when me and Rodney got in town.

The interviews were great and I cant wait until the readers of Velocity are introduced to these two very interesting and classy men. I had a great time in New York. I stayed with my boy Rodney at his place in Brooklyn...I was like a little kid at Christmas time while I have been to New York several times I have never been outside of Manhattan so to be driving down the historic Flatbush Avenue was a thrill for me. There is no place like New York...case and point...we were involved in a slight accident due to the stupidity of a driver...nothing MAJOR just a cracked mirror. So as Rodney and I went to the police station there was a young lady in there begging and pleading to see her boyfriend whom had recently got arrested....now that's not too bad but when she asked the officer if she could go and get him and bring him to the front door so she could talk to him..I nearly fell out...needless to say her request was DENIED!

Sunday morning before I left, Rodney took me on Flatbush Avenue for some shopping...I loved it..I got a Navy P coat from Phat Alberts for $33.00!!!...I was siced (yes for those un-ebonic speaking people..that means excited) after that I saw a pair of shoes that will be coming home with daddy next weekend...and for the first time I saw four chain restaurants in one building...how do you have a Blimpie, Pizza Hut, Arthur Treachers and a Taco Bell under ONE ROOF!!!...I LOVED IT..I bet the training program is a bitch...today we teach you how to do burritos and next week we show you how to fry fish!

I really enjoyed my time this weekend...I will be back this coming weekend for a major event for Da Doo Dirty Show so if anyone is in New York that reads this holla at me and come out and mingle...thank you to Rodney for opening his beautiful home to me and fixing the BEST pasta dish that I have ever had!!!...Ant loves ya! and also thank you to D.J. Baker and Adam Irby for being so accommodating and forthcoming in their interviews.

Adam this one is for you: Faith Evans
